Privacy policy

How HeartHome handles your information

Effective August 24, 2026

1. Purpose

HeartHome respects the privacy of its users and protects personal information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who it is shared with, how it is stored, and how it is protected when you use the HeartHome website, mobile application, and related services.

2. Scope

This policy applies to HeartHome websites, mobile applications, customer support interactions, and related services.

3. Information we collect

Depending on how you use HeartHome, we may collect account information, contact details, family invitations, emotional check-ins, optional profile content, support communications, device information, log data, crash reports, usage analytics, subscription and billing information, and notification preferences.

4. How we use information

We use this information to create accounts, provide the services you request, connect authorized family members, send reminders and notifications, improve the platform, maintain security, detect fraud, process subscriptions, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

5. Emotional check-ins

Emotional check-ins are voluntary. You control what you share and which authorized Family Circle members may see that information. HeartHome does not sell emotional check-in information.

6. Family sharing and consent

Guiding principles

HeartHome is built around user choice. The Primary User decides whether to create a Family Circle, who may join it, and what information is shared.

Creating a Family Circle

A Primary User may invite trusted people by email, phone number, or another supported invitation method. Invitations are voluntary and may be accepted or declined.

Consent

No Family Member receives access until they accept the invitation and any required disclosures. The Primary User may change or revoke permissions at any time.

Sharing emotional check-ins

You choose whether to share check-ins and which Family Circle members may view them. Different permission levels may be available as the platform evolves.

Permissions

Permissions may include viewing check-ins, receiving notifications, exchanging messages, or using later family features. The Primary User controls these permissions unless we say otherwise in the product.

Removing Family Members

The Primary User may remove a Family Member at any time. Removed members lose future access to shared information, subject to applicable data-retention practices.

User responsibilities

Invite only people you trust, protect your account credentials, and respect the privacy of others in the Family Circle.

Deceased or incapacitated users

HeartHome may later describe procedures for accounts when a user dies or cannot manage the account. Those procedures may require documentation.

Future guardian features

If guardian or caregiver accounts are introduced, additional consent, verification, and permission requirements may apply.

7. Sharing information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with authorized family members, with service providers acting on our behalf, when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or security.

8. Cookies and tracking technologies

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. HeartHome may also use local storage, software development kits (SDKs), pixels, and device identifiers where they are needed for the service.

Types of technologies used

We may use essential technologies for authentication and security, functional technologies to remember preferences, analytics to understand how the platform is used, and performance monitoring to improve reliability.

Mobile applications

The app may use device identifiers, notification tokens, and SDKs for app functionality, push notifications, crash reporting, and performance.

Analytics

We may use analytics providers to see aggregate usage patterns, find errors, improve usability, and measure feature adoption. Analytics are not used to sell your personal information.

Advertising

At launch, HeartHome does not use behavioral advertising. If that changes, this policy will be updated.

Your choices

You can control some cookies in your browser settings and notification permissions in your device settings. Some essential technologies are required for core functionality.

Third-party technologies

Providers we use for hosting, analytics, payments, customer support, or other services may use their own technologies, subject to their contracts with us and their privacy practices.

9. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of user information.

Access and encryption

Access to production systems is limited to authorized personnel with role-based permissions and strong authentication. We use encryption for data in transit and, where appropriate, encryption or equivalent protections for stored sensitive information.

Vendors, logging, and incidents

Service providers are expected to meet security practices appropriate to the work they do, including confidentiality and data-protection obligations in their contracts. We keep logs for troubleshooting, operations, and security investigations. If a security incident requires notice under applicable law, we will provide it.

10. Data retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and keep business records. Periods may differ by data category.

When you request account deletion, we remove or de-identify personal information within a reasonable period, subject to legal, contractual, security, fraud-prevention, and backup requirements.

11. User rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your information, ask for corrections, update preferences, remove family members, download available data, or request deletion of your account and certain personal information. Use the contact details below.

12. Children's privacy

HeartHome is designed for adults. Unless we say otherwise in a later release, the services are not directed to children under 13.

Accounts for minors

If HeartHome later adds features for minors, those accounts will require verifiable parent or legal guardian consent where the law requires it. We will collect only the minimum information needed for approved features.

Parent or guardian rights

Parents or guardians may review, correct, manage, or request deletion of a minor's personal information, subject to applicable law. Sharing settings for minor accounts will default to the most privacy-protective options and require appropriate authorization.

Safety

HeartHome will not knowingly encourage children to publicly disclose personal information on the platform. Information associated with minor accounts will be kept only as long as needed for the approved purpose and applicable legal requirements. Providers working with HeartHome are expected to protect children's information under their contracts and the law.

13. Third-party services

HeartHome may use providers for hosting, cloud infrastructure, analytics, notifications, customer support, and payment processing. Those providers have their own privacy practices and contractual obligations to us.

14. International users

If HeartHome operates internationally, personal information may be processed in jurisdictions where HeartHome or its service providers operate, subject to applicable law.

15. Policy updates

We may revise this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the services or website, with an updated effective date.
